A lot, actually. My writing career has started to take off (considering I'm still only 23). My first full-length play (on stage) has been published and produced already as well as won a few contests. I'm in the WGA vaults for a bit. Things are good. How about yourself?

Wow, this is the first review I've read on this site...and I'm impressed, I had no idea that they would publish someone with a knack for writing on the level of an austistic nine year old, not to mention absolutely "zero" understanding of heavy music. The fact that you think that Chimera is a fore-runner in the bid for "album of the year" proves that you should put an end to your miserable, mall dwelling existence and be buried in your Headbanger's Ball t-shirt.
I hope the rest of this site doesn't suck nearly as much.

If you havent heard this band yet, in a few months you will. Us Versus Them released a home recorded CD a little while ago. I didnt think to much of them when I first heard it. One of the guitarists (rich) was previously in bands with myself for eight years. So I kind of new what to expect when I first heard the music. Rich is an amazing guitar player and after hearing all the songs I could just tell he did all the writing. Personally to me the vocals were horrible. Sorry Matt. I myself sang hardcore/metal music for 8 years and I knew it takes a lot of practice to get it down and get it right. People think that just anybody can scream and that it is just non-sense yelling. They couldn't be more wrong. It takes practice and is more of a vocal art form than anything else. Recently though UVT just released a "limited download only christmas song" that I think is just plain brutal. Matt, your vocals got 100 times better than what you recorded in the past, I can give nothing but props to you now because even I know you can tell the difference. Every singer can. Your more on the Zao-esque side of vocals and it sounds nothing short of brutal. I suggest you guys re-record or write 4 brand new songs and release them with the new vocal style. I'm sure you guys will start to see a lot more opportunity arise if you do. So head over to myspace and check these guys out, because in a year or two, they could be touring non-stop.

Thanks to the easy listening of the Metal Channel on digital cable, I discovered a little gem named Sanctity. These guys are good. Modern, yet with a thrash throwback. Not afraid to shred the guitar in the new "No Solo" degeneration. One of the few cd's I have actually ripped off of the net via Limewire. Don't worry though, I will be buying the CD. Good band.

Just to ease the mind of Lars Ulrich and his cronies, I have officially bought the album. So, you may now take me off of your list of people to "sue," fuck you very much. See, it's like this. I hit the 80's and turned into a teen in '82. Today we have file sharing, cd burners, sites like Limewire, etc. In my day it was called tape trading. One of us would get a tape (An ancient form of media called a cassette tape) and copy it for all of our friends. Some would go out and buy, some would not. What this did was turn others onto a band or album, thus generating cassette or record purchases. If it wasn't for tape trading Metallica would not have become so popular and thus be able to afford to stalk teenagers on the file sharing programs to sue. See, tape trading helped them to sue file sharers. Isn't America great?

I refuse to go outside corcerts anymore, so i was excited that S.O.T.U was inside in my area.. things came up so i couldnt go and was thankful after hearing the bullshit people had to go though just to even get into the show. 4 EXTRA HOURS of waiting in line!! Apparently, every 10 minutes they kept coming out saying it would be another 10 minutes. fuck that!!!!! And because of the delay and insurance reasons they had to cancel some of the healiners... one of which was Darkest Hour, the main reason why i wanted to go! There was a lot of sunburn and pissed off kids.. i talked to a few people that left and less that actually stuck around for the show.. thanks but no thanks.. I'll just stick with the smaller shows!!
