This was my first time back to the Palladium in over a year. The last show before this one that I went to featured Bleeding Through, Every Time I Die, Between the Buried and Me and Haste (i think). Unfortunately we showed up late to that show but were able to catch BTBAM's full set (amazing) and 4 songs into ETID I was kicked out for hitting someone "intentionally" in the pit. I never liked "dancing" and "moshing" but after a pint of bacardi, half a pint of Jack Daniels and eight beers I was up for anything.
Anyways, it was good to be back to the place I played at a few times while I was in DGB. Brought back many good memories and I actually ran into Guy from the Red Chord. Havent seen him in years and have been glad to see the Red Chord doing very well for themselves.
We showed up late (as usual) and missed Giant. Never heard of them before this show and never checked them on myspace so cant give you any insight on them.
Walked in halfway through the set of Animosity. These guys were very tight but brought nothing new to the table. Just your average hardcore band bringing the "mosh" and ripping metal parts. I think I have put on some headphones sometime and listen to these dudes in some one on one time. I'll bet i'd be more into them, but they didnt really do anything for me.
Horse the Band was on next. I have been dying to see them live just cause in the past couple years they have been one of the bands I wanted to see and I actually missed them with Dillinger and BTBAM at the Middle East in Cambridge cause we didnt buy tickets and I didnt think it would get sold out. They are very entertaining live and the music was played to perfection even with them running all over the place. I'd see them again if they were on a bill but would not specifically go out to just see them.
Last but not least, Between The Buried and Me. In case you havent figured out yet from this shitty review, BTBAM, is one of my favorite bands. This was either my 3rd or 4th time seeing them live and they killed it. They played "Colors" straight through and they couldnt have been anything short of perfect. They are just five unbelievably talented individuals who I hope continue to write amazing records for years to come. They are becoming very Mike Pattonish though and I hope they dont strain to far into that genre, I'd like them to keep it unique to themselves as they have the past 4 years. (Patton by the way is my all time hero, the man is just amazing. )
Anyways, if you actually sat through this show review I hope you enjoyed it, writing is not one of my strong points but I'm sure you enjoyed it.
