CD REVIEW: Anterior- The Age Of Silence

CD Review: Anterior- The Age Of Silence - hitthepit.com

Band: Anterior
Album: This Age of Silence
Label: Metalblade

Anterior is: Luke Davies: Vocals/Guitar, Leon Kemp: Lead Guitar, James Britton: Bass, Ross Andrews: Drums

From the home of metal itself - the UK, comes Anterior. This band is definitely, definitely thrashy, and melodic enough to please those less used to the more abrasive sounds of metal, but heavy enough to please those who could care less about overly melodic records. No matter what type of metal you're into - you can't deny that these dudes have chops. The drumming, soloing, and vocals are all done with expert precision. This is definitely not a lazy sounding record.
This Age of Silence is for fans of Children of Bodom/Shadows Fall/ & melodic thrash.

"Anterior rocked everyone's balls off! They were amazing, these kids could fucking play!” (8/11/2005) - Brian Redman of Roadrunner Records own 3 Inches Of Blood.

These guys are actually a band I heard a while back, thanks to my buddy who was over in England last year. I love hard, heavy, slap your grandma music. ("I want to kill you," Kreator says as I write this) But I have my mellow moods too. This band is definately mellow mood music for the thrash, black metal, metal fans. My wife is in disbelief when I tell her I need to mellow from the ear splitting noise she hates for the most part. Then I put Anterior on. But those of you who like it fast, you know what I'm talking about. These guys are melodic and metal rythym bliss. Without being cheesy. Good, basic metal. No ballads here, yet they have a sound that is lost in this modern scene. Definately a band to check out if you aren't stuck in one genre. Yeah, you youngsters.
